We're finally at volume 3, and that is a very emphatic "finally" because this is where (in my opinion) the story actually becomes interesting. I'm an absolute sucker for interactions involving language/culture barriers, and reading these chapters over a year ago is the only reason why I picked up the series in the first place. Well, more specifically it was because the dialogue from the girl is in fact comprehensible, and I didn't want another group to unknowingly butcher it. You're not supposed to be able to understand what she's saying, but all will become clear after the jump...

Getting close to the end... The chapter title is a reference to the Maaya Sakamoto song "Uchuu Hikoushi no Uta" (Song of an Astronaut), which is about someone who dreams that they're an astronaut far off in space remembering their time with a farmer wearing a straw hat... Sound familiar?

I'm releasing this a little earlier than usual so that I can say that I'm caught up again, if only for a couple minutes. This will be the last time I have to worry about "staying caught up," because I will be finishing the series next week. One interesting thing about being "behind" is that this is the first time I directly compared the anime subtitles to my translation. For some reason DP System's dialogue is a little difficult for me to translate at times, so using CR's subs as reference helped me spot a couple points of improvement.

Once again, the anime adapted this chapter pretty faithfully, with the only major change being Hitoma Ruu's motivation for fighting. Honestly she comes off a little less sympathetic in the anime for that reason, but it's not a big deal.

Well, I'm picking up a new series. This is one that I'm really excited to be translating, and I think that fans of Munko's work will be able to appreciate the short slice-of-life comedy format. There isn't much to say just yet since it's only the first chapter, but I hope that you will enjoy it.

Also, now that volume 2 of Taiga is done, I can finally hop into volume 3! I have to admit that volume 3 is the only reason why I picked up this series in the first place, so I'm also very excited to start work on it.

The chapter was mostly adapted intact, but I'm glad that they softened Subaru's expression of horror when her secret gets out. Seeing it always makes me feel a little uncomfortable...

I still can't believe that the entire part with George was skipped in the anime. And also the explanation of how Rindo can beat Subaru (almost creating a plot hole if you ask me). Not including that last joke was probably for the best though...

P.S. The title of this chapter is the final reference to Battle Yarou, being the second part of the chorus along with "Become a master" from the beginning of this arc. A nice bookend, eh?
